I've decided to breath some fresh life into my old Mossberg 500 12ga shotgun.  I'll be modifying it to sudo replicate a WWII Trench Shotgun.

The image below is a Winchester Model 1897 WWII Trench Shotgun.

The image below is Mossberg 500 "WWII Trench Shotgun" I found on google image search and what I'm aiming to create.  I like the way the parkarized heat shield looks, so I'll be replacing the plastic safety button and trigger assembly with a metal one.  Then have the entire shotgun parkerized.

This is what I'll be starting with.

A 1991 Mossberg 500 12ga.

My first step was installing a new ribbed forearm.

I then installed a Mossberg 500 Standoff Barrel.  I thought that the "door breach" barrel would be a fun addition.

Next will be a different wood stock, heat shield and ghost ring sights.

Very cool....I'm a gunsmith and decided to take on a similar project for my Mossberg 500. I really like your eye on how you pulled everything together. Great Job.
